About Mervat (Merv) Olds

I was born in Doha, Qatar, and moved to the United States when I was just three years old. I spent most of my childhood in Silver Spring, Maryland, before relocating to Northern Virginia during the final years of high school. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Purchasing and Logistics from Arizona State University—go Sun Devils! Over the years, I’ve lived in several states, including Arizona, California, Washington, and Colorado, before settling back in Virginia with my husband and our growing family.

Although my early interest was in architecture, I realized the technical path wasn’t the right fit and found success in the world of purchasing and product management. I spent over 15 years in the telecommunications industry, gaining valuable skills in communication, negotiation, and project management.

When corporate layoffs impacted my role, I took it as the perfect opportunity to pivot into something I had long been passionate about—real estate.

My love for real estate truly came to life when my husband and I were searching for our first home. That experience opened my eyes to the impact a knowledgeable and caring agent can have during what is often a stressful and emotional process. I knew then that I wanted to be that kind of support system for others—someone who can simplify the journey, advocate for clients, and celebrate with them when they find “THE ONE.”
